The inspiration for this three day intermediate metalsmithing course is the work of the great silversmiths of Mexico. Students will fabricate their own design for a pierced overlay bracelet with hinges for movement and a custom box clasp closure. Piercing and sweat soldering panels, forming the bracelet, fabricating and troubleshooting custom hinges and clasps and more will be covered during this workshop. Recent practice with basic metalsmithing skills, like sawing, filing and soldering, are recommended.
This course at the Alaska Bead Company meets for two full days and two evenings.
