Create lightweight earrings with volume and beautiful texture in this second level fabrication class. Students will learn how to make a hollow box form and solder them to posts. Demonstrations will include safety tips for soldering hollow forms, more advanced fabrication techniques, and as always, lots of new tricks for improving your soldering skills.
• Design and layout of hollow forms including cones, cylinders and cubes
• Soldering hollow forms
• Anti-firescale fluxes
• Soldering links
• Controlling solder flow
• Set a half drilled pearl
• Cutting disks with a disk cutter
• Making domes with a dapping block and dapping punches
Kit of materials and use of tools included with the class. All students have their own bench full of tools to use during class.

Students need experience and recent practice with basic fabrication skills (sawing, filing, polishing with power tools, and soldering precious metals), like successful completion of Basic Jewelry 1 or Basic Jewelry 1 & 2.
