Create pieces of patterned woven metal for stunning centerpieces that will set your jewelry designs apart. Visiting guest instructor Jeanie Pratt will teach you how to weave small sheets of metal from flattened wire in this 4 day workshop. You will be introduced to a variety of different patterns that can be achieved with weave structures that range from a simple over under plain weave to beautiful flowing undulating twill designs.
There are so many fun ways to achieve different effects in weaving, including the weave pattern itself, combining different metals for contrast and varying the widths of the wire used in the weave structure. Students will be encouraged to create a variety of samples.
This class is open to repeat students who have taken it before. Repeat students can work on more advanced weaving patterns with Jeanie.
• How to prepare metal for weaving
