Continue building your jewelry fabrication skills by making a custom prong setting and a chain bracelet. Students make a prong setting for a stone and turn it into a pendant, and will learn techniques for soldering chain and making custom links.
In the prong setting project, students learn how to design their setting, how to solder prongs to a pedestal base, and how to solder on a bail for wearing it as a necklace. After polishing, they will set their stone.
Chain is a important part of jewelry making. Students will first learn how to solder links together to join chain and to add findings, like clasps. Then they will make custom links as they learn how to fuse Argentium sterling.
