Silvera Jewelry School will be closed through July 31st, in cooperation with the City of Berkeley mandates for social distancing and to help contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are still open online for interactive live zoom classes, and online orders.
The City of Berkeley has mandates in place for the protection of its citizens that is in line with the County of Alameda, but also has some further restrictions on businesses, etc.
As we interpret the guidelines, our school would be classified under schools, or a little bit more optimistically as salons and barbershops. We host small gatherings of under 7-8 people. Students and their teacher would be together for 3- 7 hours indoors. As you can see in the Alameda County Reopening Plan graphic, we may be allowed to open in the next phase or the phase after that.
When we are allowed to reopen, we will practice safety precautions as outlined for businesses by the public health department of Berkeley. These include wearing face coverings, physical distancing, and a site specific protection plan for the school to limit exposure.
Until we are allowed to reopen and we decide it’s safe for our community, we will continue to offer live interactive zoom online classes and fill online orders.
Please check this page for updates.
In the meantime, stay safe, be healthy and make something fun!
Thanks from all of us at Silvera Jewelry School
