The brass chuck allows you to share this handle with multiple files. But speaking straight from the bench - I use these handles on my favorite, most used needle files like the half round, flat and barrette files. Once they're on, I leave the handles on to make them easy to find and a pleasure to use. The rest of my needle files I use less often and without a handle.
This handle will not work with miniature needle files.
