Description
This soft charcoal block helps create a clean, reducing atmosphere during soldering. Soft charcoal is handy for pressing parts into, making grooves and depressions to help with soldering. It also has better heat retention, giving the user the desired reflective heat to solder faster and easier with better flow. Our premium blocks are wrapped in PVC, then individually boxed, eliminating the mess often associated with charcoal. Measures: 51/2" x 23/4" x 11/4".
Soft charcoal can continue to smolder after soldering and should be quenched in water. Since it is more prone to cracking than hard charcoal blocks, the the block together with a strip of thin base metal sheet and/or binding wire to hold it together for long life.
