Create wonderful fine silver jewelry pieces with shimmering enamel color with simple tools.
Metal clay is fantastic - shape your design in clay, then fire it to remove the binder, revealing solid fine silver. Create texture and designs that can be enameled with beautiful colored glass.
Enameling is firing glass on metal. Use brilliant transparent enamels to add color to your designs and over texture.
Arlene and Anat will demonstrate these two techniques that combine to create colorful pieces of silver jewelry.
In the first part of this online Zoom class you’ll learn to texturize and shape metal clay into unique jewelry pieces and then fire it with a torch or kiln into pure solid metal. Metal clay can be rolled, pressed or molded to create the perfect base for the colorful enameling process.
Design and create two to three pieces of jewelry then discover how to create beautiful color through a variety of enameling techniques. Anat will demonstrate how to choose and apply enamels. You’ll use a simple, home friendly butane kitchen torch to fire both your metal clay and the enamels.
