Cost: $165.00

Foldforming is a fantastic technique for turning sheet metal into dramatically textured forms, like cuffs, stars, flowers and leaves. This technique combines origami and metalwork to make beautiful surfaces on jewelry by repeatedly folding and unfolding sheet in different patterns. Combine it with enameling to create colorful and brilliant designs.

Students will learn how to fold metal to make textures, with hammers and/or a rolling mill, and then fire transparent glass enamel colors on top in this fun one day workshop.

Techniques taught:

• Annealing
• Fold Forming
• Forging
• Techniques for adding texture to metal
• Basics of torch fired enameling
• Working with transparent enamels over texture
• Using a rolling mill to make textures

All materials included and use of tools to complete the projects. Each student has their own jewelry bench to work at during class.

Class policies for refunds, transfers and cancelations.

Open to all levels - beginners welcome!
