Cost: $175.00

Have you been dreaming about getting a rolling mill? Prices on economy rolling mills have dropped drastically - models are available for less than $350! The rolling mill is a metalsmith's fantasy tool: texture and imprint your metal like a printing press, and roll out your own wire and sheet from your scrap.

Use paper, fabric, and found materials to imprint designs on sheet metal - even make a couple of cuffs during class. Bring your scrap sterling or fine silver to cast into an ingot and roll out into wire or sheet, and learn how to reduce your own metal to smaller gauges. Turn round wire into square, or even into a triangular profile! Join us for instruction in how to safely use and maintain a rolling mill as well as practice with this great tool.

Techniques Taught:
• Melting metal and casting ingots
• About rolling mills features
• Rolling ingots into sheet and wire
• Creating texture with a rolling mill
• How to make a cuff, bangle or bracelet with your rolled and textued sheet

A kit of materials and use of tools included with the class. Class fees include use of tools and a kit of materials for practicing techniques shown. Each student has a jewelry bench to work at during class.

Class policies for refunds, transfers and cancelations.
