Cost: $165.00

Fire up your creativity with the perfect partnership of metal clay and Argentium silver. Sculpt, texturize and mold easy to manipulate metal clay into beautiful shapes for jewelry and then fire it with a torch or kiln into pure hard silver. Once it’s fired, you can fuse or solder it to Argentium to make rings, earrings, pendants and more. Join Arlene and Joe for this joint class in making silver jewelry with two different techniques.

In the morning, Arlene will demonstrate how to take advantage of the amazing properties of metal clay. Students will fire their pieces and after lunch, Joe will guide them through the steps to work with Argentium. Argentium is a wonderful silver alloy that can be fused and soldered and is tarnish resistant - that’s right! Silver jewelry without having to clean off tarnish! Students will fuse their own rings and parts for pendants, and solder them to their metal clay fine silver designs. How to solder on posts to make earrings will also be demonstrated.

A $30 kit fee is due to Arlene Mornick on the first day of class. Argentium, full color handout and use of tools included.

Class policies for refunds, transfers and cancelations.
