Learn the art of cloisonné enameling with Anat as she takes you through this ancient technique that is still bursting with vibrant beauty by the hands of makers today.

Cloisonné means cloister or cell, and is identifiable by the wires used to separate areas of enamel. These wire designs create areas to fill in with crisp opaque or deep translucent color. This fundamental enameling technique creates jewel-like colors that are stunning to behold.

Anat Silvera will cover kiln and torch-fired techniques for creating colorful cloisonné jewelry.

Techniques covered:

• torch fired techniques for cloisonné
• kiln techniques for cloisonné
• bending and firing in place cloisonné wire
• cleaning and wet packing enamels
• stoning and polishing enamels for a brilliant finish

Kit of materials, full color handout and use of tools included.

Prerequisites:

Previous experience and practice with enameling is required, like successful completeion of Enameling 1.
