Jewelry- not just metal! The field of jewelry encompasses so many more materials than just precious metal, join us to see just how much there is out there for you to explore!

Jenn Parnell Kirpatrick will be talking about the history of alternative material usage in jewelry making, how alternative materials were introduced into jewelry making. See work from artists who use these materials, and how the materials can transcend into art.  From the end of the 19th century onward, alternative and non-traditional materials in jewelry have continued to gain prominence and there has been continual exploration of new materials and ways to use them.
